A seldom seen three act ballet, Sylvia was first performed over 100 years ago but has never been treasured by the British public in the same way that we cherish other 19th century classics. David Bintley created his own version in 1993, but, unhappy with the result, extensively reworked the ballet for a new performance in 2000.
